What is Meditation?

How does it work?

Meditation as a practice today is pretty common and widespread and continues to be adapted to suit our lives. The earliest written records of meditation come from Hindu traditions in India of Vendatism, a school of philosophy and is one of the earliest known Indian paths for spiritual enlightenment dating back to around 1500BE.

Other forms of meditation are cited around the 6th and 5th centuries BCE within Taoist, China and Buddhist, India and has been adopted by it’s neighboring countries quickly and became a part of many religions throughout the world.

The word meditation stems from meditatum, a Latin term meaning ‘to ponder’, through the practice of meditation we are seeking to find and maintain a better connection with our body, in the everyday moments while also becoming strongly connect to divine.

Meditation is highly beneficial in restoring and maintaining holistic health and wellbeing, it is a technique used to assist ones mind to slow down and bring it’s attention, awareness and focus back to oneself, a particular object, thought or activity depending on what level of self-awareness one is trying to achieve and gain from the process.

Benefits of Meditation

Meditation in a sense allows the human mind to reflect upon itself, a connection to self and divinity, it’s origin, purpose and destiny. Meditation is one of the most common tools used for discovering the deeper truth of who we are, our inner self and our connection to our higher selves, bringing our subconscious into our conscious state of mind, while slowing down ones monkey brain and assist us in letting go of generational programing, past traumas, cultural beliefs and bringing one into true alignment with ones soulful self.

ONE ON ONE

One on one guided meditation sessions, that are tailored to suit the specific needs of the individual, both for adult and children.

COUPLES

Couples guided meditation sessions, that are tailored to meet the needs of the couple.

GROUP

Group guided meditation sessions, these sessions are tailored to specific areas for example; chakra balancing and realignment, relaxation, connecting to self, connecting to your spirit guides, self-love and self-empowerment, de-stressing and de-cluttering of ones mind, etc. In group session we are always open to feedback and suggestions as to what it is our clients wish to practice and focus on in terms of meditation.
